Job Summary:

The responsibilities of the Senior Analyst, Market Risk are primarily running various market risk processes and preparing the associated internal and external reports.  Additionally, the Senior Analyst will be expected to monitor local market conditions and assist in interpreting the various market risk metrics.  This individual will also be responsible for further developing the market risk models as well as implementing the rules and regulations of ING Head Office Risk Management and regulatory bodies. 

Responsibilities:

• Manage the execution and analysis of monthly and weekly reports including: Market Risk Report, Liquidity Ladder Report, Cap Contingency Report, NAF Report, Hyperion Reconciliation Report, Liquidity Crisis Contingency Report, Coca Report, and Cash and Collateral Report
• Develop liquidity analysis and detailed MVS, EaR and VaR variance analysis for variable risk scenarios
• Implement QRM Asset and Liability Management Framework, which includes the setup products, portfolios, yield curve and rate index; build reinvestment, pricing and allocation strategies; and benchmark principle schedule, cash flow schedule, earnings, values, and durations
• Execute data mapping and ETL
• Manage the QRM Asset Liability Management (ALM) Model
• Gather ALM data from various sources including Integra-T, FMS and Bloomberg
• Develop new interest rate and liquidity risk models as well as documenting new risk measurement procedures
• Implement HO and OSFI reporting changes / requirements
• Liaise between Market Risk and other groups of the bank (e.g. Finance and Treasury) regarding market risk and any other ad-hoc information requests
• Participate and manage different projects with Head Office and locally
• Support ad hoc scenario analysis as required
• Support in the education of  Analysts to close knowledge gaps
• Oversee Basel and OSFI news releases related to Market Risk

Requirements:

• Skills:
  • Strong quantitative analysis skills
  • Strong database and spreadsheet skills – SQL, Access, Cyberquery, Excel.
  • Strong understanding of customer behavioral models.
  • Working knowledge of SAS and VBA
  • Ability to communicate complex Market Risk topics to non-expert peers within the company

• Knowledge:
  • Strong knowledge of ALM Framework (QRM)
  • Strong analytic and troubleshooting skills with a solution-oriented attitude

• Qualifications:
  • University or Master degree majoring in one of following: Finance, Economics, MBA
  • Canadian securities course
  • CFA and/or FRM preffered
  • 2-3 years Previous Market Risk exposure preferred
  • Previous experience in Liquidity and Asset Liability Management reporting and measurement is an asset

• Experience:
  • In-depth understanding and knowledge of financial market
  • 2 – 3 years of experience with QRM application
